This video is amazing. All hand-done stop-motion. No computer graphics.

Jake lent me this really great book put out by Japanese camera company Asahi. They used to put these out annually, displaying the best in Japanese photography of the past year. There are really great photos in it, a lot are spreads so these scans are missing parts, but it’s a taste.

To be honest, I’m getting a little tired of this whole “summer” aesthetic – it’s becoming too formulaic…but if it keeps churning out good music, well, I’ll keep on listening.

I like this idea.

The video for Gorillaz’s new single, Stylo (off their new album Plastic Beach) was released a few days ago. I love Gorillaz, and thoroughly enjoyed Plastic Beach, although I think some may be disappointed. But in the grand scheme of the Gorillaz story and aesthetic, it fits perfectly, and I can’t wait for subsequent videos.

A Tool to Deceive and Slaughter (2009) – Caleb Larsen

This is awesome – it’s a black box that perpetually tries to sell itself on eBay. It’s art that’s always trying to escape its owner.
